History

Narnia

The Narnia Catechetical and Cultural Center was founded by Mrs. Mickie Teetor in 1981. Several years before that, she began the program organically by offering Catholic religious education to students who met at her own home. Her idea of offering a non-classroom environment for catechesis took off immediately, and soon there were numerous such gatherings of students who met weekly to learn about their faith and receive sacramental preparation.

The Narnia Clubs, as they are known, now meet all over Manhattan. Each class is hosted by parents, who share Mrs. Teetor’s original vision to give their children a strong sense of identity and responsibility, as well as a love for their Catholic faith.
